Superior Design
The design of the valve is where its true worth is found. The valve's trunnions are both offset from the valve centreline having the affect of camming the shutter into its seat for a positive shut off. The shutter actually moves away from the seat as it opens, effectively eliminating seat wear.
Superb Control
The Omega valve exploits its design features to the full when used as a control valve. As previously mentioned, the shutter

does
not rub its seat when opened instead it moves within a close
tolerance to it. As the Valve does not wear the seat when
modulating, the valve torque figure is greatly reduced, this
allows for faster response times from smaller actuators.
Vessel
Outlet Valves
The
Omega valve, although originally designed as an inline process
valve, has made a name for itself as a superb vessel outlet
valve. Because the shutter cams up into its seat, its polished
sealing surface can interpenetrate with the vessel it is mounted
to, virtually eliminating dead space.

Self
Draining Valves and Special Applications
The Omega valve system also includes a very flat internal
finish, with no dwell spots inside the valve. Once fitted
with suitable end connections, the omega can be self draining
even when installed in the normal upright position.
Other
unique features include flush out and injection Ports, C>I>P
connections, highly polished internal finishes and even steam
injection at the trunnions to provide an aseptic solution.
